Case Examples
A social worker from the hospital contacted Opad for assistance regarding a 71-year-old man who had been left behind in the medical ward by his children, but they never came back for him. The elderly man expressed a desire to leave the island and move to Apia to live with his sister. We reached out to his sister, who came to pick him up. She coordinated with the hospital doctors and the airlines to arrange for his transportation back to Apia.
