Giving Back through a Career in Juvenile Justice

Driven by a promise to his grandmother and himself, Shane refused to let ADHD, OCD, and dyslexia hold him back. The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department (SCVRD) played a key role in helping Shane fulfill his potential by equipping him with the tools he needed to find his career path. With SCVRD’s support, Shane graduated from high school and earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Coaching with a minor in Health and Business from Erskine College. Shane now works as a Juvenile Correctional Officer at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Learn more about his success story here.
