Name
David
Body

After a heart attack and quintuple bypass surgery led to the loss of his eyesight and his career at Boeing, David regained his independence with the help of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). David completed orientation and mobility training, learned how to use assistive technology devices, and earned licensure to run his own vending machine business through the Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program. The support David received from DRS not only helped him launch a new career as an entrepreneur but also strengthened his confidence: “I officially started in January of this year. I’m really loving the work so far. This whole journey has been challenging, but also so rewarding. Everyone at DRS has been outstanding along the way, always believing in me even when I didn’t yet believe in myself.” Learn more about David’s success story from this TV interview and related video.
