Through the Disability Innovation Fund, RSA funds several model demonstration projects that support individuals with disabilities to achieve competitive integrated employment through innovative forms of service delivery and new programming. In FFY 2021, RSA funded eight projects through its Career Advancement Project, including Nebraska’s Career Pathway’s Advancement Project (CPAP). After recovering from substance abuse and serving time in prison, David connected with Nebraska VR. The VR program assisted David with obtaining his first job and ultimately his career at Todd’s BBI, a food manufacturing and packaging business, in Norfolk, Nebraska. Through Nebraska’s CPAP, David reconnected with Nebraska VR and received a variety of supports to advance in his career while backfilling positions in the company to help it continue to grow.
